Course Description:
Some of the most significant findings on dental radiographs are the ones we are not actively looking for. This presentation explores hidden pathology, unusual radiographic presentations, and unexpected discoveries that can appear during routine imaging. By examining unique and thought-provoking cases, dental hygienists will strengthen their ability to detect subtle abnormalities and expand their diagnostic awareness beyond typical radiographic findings.

Objectives:

• Apply a systematic approach to evaluating dental radiographs for abnormalities beyond caries and bone levels.
• Recognize common radiographic signs associated with pathologic conditions affecting teeth, bone, and surrounding structures.
• Strengthen clinical confidence in identifying findings that require further evaluation or referral.
