Course Description:
This presentation will discuss the latest updates and recommendations for the dental radiographer in acquiring and interpertating dental images. New and revisited safety recommendations, considerations for risk vs. benefit in dental imaging and communication strategies with patients will be discussed. Rational use of artificial and augmented intelligence software as well as back-to-basic techniques and tips will round out this practical program.
Course Objectives:
- Evaluate and discuss updates on radiation safety for the patient and clinician in the use of ionizing radiation in dentistry
- Consider ethical and appropriate recommendations for the prescription of dental images for adults and children
- Identify errors and consider technique modifications for acquiring diagnostic images
- Explore and discuss the latest trends and technologies in acquiring and interpreting dental images
